Drum Circle, Arts Workshops and Musical “Storia di Pariba y Pabao” 2015
Fundacion Muchila Creativo in collaboration with UNOCA presented from May till November 2015
Drum Circle, Arts workshops and the Musical: “Storia di Pariba y Pabao”, an Aruban “Romeo and Juliette” story directed by Emerita Emerencia.
This Project was performed with students of Juliana School (Oranjestad) and Abraham de Veer School (San Nicolas) under direction of Emerita Emerencia.
During the month of May and June 2015 the students of Abraham de Veer School and Juliana School got several workshops on the field of music, theatre and dance presented by Emerita Emerencia, Remigio Rasmijn and Alex Wever.
From September 22nd till September 25th Matthijs Spaltman from Curacao presented the Music Box project for the students of Abraham de Veer School and Juliana School.
On Thursday September 24th the audition for the musical took place at Juliana School. On Friday September 25th was the audition from Abraham de Veer School at Scol di Arte.
In October and November the rehearsals took place on the field of Dance, directed by Elvys Sanches and Lisbel Pop, Theatre directed by Emerita Emerencia, Drum Circle directed by Remigio Rasmijn, vocal directed by Eltienne Yarzagaray and coached by Rose-Marie Provence, Visual Arts directed by King Lie-Kwie. All the students of the 3rd grade of Juliana School and Abraham de Veer were involved. Some groups did research on “gangs”, and other groups were in the production team under direction of their teacher Lilian de Cuba.
The stage managers were Shedaissy Kock-Lake, Marzia Gomes, Kar-Olyne Vanschel en Neelam Harilall coordinated by Luty Martinez.
On November 21 rst the presentacion of the musical “Storia di Pariba y Pabao” took place in Cas di Cultura with “live music” performed by Eltienne Yarzagaray (keyboard) Rose-Marie Provence (Guitar) Mariele Perez-Provence (percussion) Geoffrey Wever (conga’s) Daniel Werleman (bass guitar) and Fredy Gollarza (drums). It was almost full house. Everyone enjoyed the show where at the end the students received a standing ovation.
